How to complete your MBA registration file?
The first step is of course to select the schools and programs that interest you.
How to assess your level to choose your school?
One of the most difficult things is to assess its level and its possibilities. While certain tests like the GMAT or the TOEFL can give you an idea of the opportunities available to you, they are not decisive and a good record and good managerial experience can catch up with rather average scores.
The best thing to do is therefore to target all levels and establishments of different renown with the help of MBA Abroad admission Consultants. You have nothing to lose except registration fees, and some interviews can then be used as training to prepare the schools you really want.
What are the requirements to join an MBA program?
Each school offering its MBA programs has its own admission criteria, but we can find characteristics common to each of them in the requirements they impose. This is based in particular on age, professional experience, or the projects carried out so far.
The average age of students applying for an MBA is around 26 to 30 years old, so more mature students. Most schools require 4 to 5 years of professional experience in a managerial position before joining an MBA course. The more large-scale projects you have managed during your first years on the job market, the more rewarding it will be.
The tests required to enter an MBA:
When creating your file for the different programs you are targeting, two tests should be highlighted, the GMAT and the TOEFL. While most schools allow students to send in their file without these scores which can be provided later, it is advisable to take their tests as early as possible to have a complete file from the start.
The GMAT score: The GMAT is an American aptitude and logic test entirely in English and aimed at measuring your intellectual capacities. It is a particularly difficult test that requires preparation at least two months in advance. The maximum score is 800 points.
A score of at least 600 will allow you to join a reputable or even very reputable school, but it does not guarantee admission. Many other factors are taken into account. However, there are times when students with scores above 750 are exceptionally admitted, but the most reputable institutions will never limit themselves to the GMAT score to assess you.
The TOEFL score: The TOEFL is an English language test designed to measure your level of comprehension and expression. Divided into 4 tests marked on 30 points each, your score is measured on a total of 120 points.
According to MBA Abroad admission Consultants, for the best schools, a score of 100 will not be too much to ensure good entry conditions, and a score below 85/90 is often eliminatory.
