Learning Objective

Learning Outcome

  • To understand basic technical skills in managing the process for surgical instrumentation sterilization, inventory control and supply chain management, and information technology as it relates to the sterile processing environment.
  • To understand professional behaviors of caring, accountability, responsibility, respect for the quality care of patients, acceptable attitude and attire, and organization and time management skills.
  • To understand the work independently in a team of central sterile processing technicians who are collaborating to maintain sterilization and storage.
  • To acquire critical thinking skills as a basis for clinical judgment and anticipatory decision making when managing all tasks related to sterile processing.

Evaluations and Grading

  • Evaluations will collate candidate performance based on Self Assessment, Term End Assessment, completion of Project Work , participation in Webinar , participation in student-faculty chat.
  • Grading will be done based on alphabetical grade point percentage.

Certification

At the end of the program the student will be awarded a Certification from Astron Institute of International Studies.
