Course Overview

A modern hospital or clinic is equipped with high-tech equipment designed to support patient’s vital systems or provide physicians with diagnostic imaging. Certificate Program in Medical Equipment Technology has been conceptualised to develop skills related to installing, maintaining, calibrating, upgrading and repairing this high-tech equipment. The program has been designed to develop necessary scientific and electronic knowledge and also provide hands-on lab experience in maintaining and repairing medical equipment in a healthcare setting. The program has been structured to provide progressive group learning among the students enrolled through case studies, presentations and group work.

Learning Outcome

To understand the anatomy, physiology and functions of the body.
To understand the biomedical instrument ,transducers , bio-potential and bio-electrodes, clinical instruments and cardiac assist devices.
To understand the electronic circuits & devices li like diodes, bipolar junction , field effect transistor and filter circuits.
To understand medical imaging like X–Rays , computed tomography , magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound etc.
To understand the medical informatics, classification of medical data, applications of computers in medical fields.
To manage the equipment related to patient safety and electoral safety, special techniques for measurement of non-electrical biological parameters.

Evaluations and Grading

Evaluations will collate candidate performance based on Self Assessment, Term End Assessment, completion of Project Work , participation in Webinar , participation in student-faculty chat.
Grading will be done based on alphabetical grade point percentage.
