Course Overview

Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology has been designed to ensure that the candidate gains adequate expertise to be a part of the surgical team. This diploma prepares the technician to be fully conversant with the functioning of the operation theatre and the surgical procedures undertaken in the OT. They are trained to maintain the OT equipment and instruments, check the infection control practices and status of sterilization of the OT and also ensure its smooth functioning. A trained OT technician is the most important element of the surgical team.

Learning Outcome

To provide the role of operation theatre technician, design and set up.
To provide the techniques of safe injection and the drug used for pre medication
learn basics of processing and sterilization, newer methods of sterilization
To learn management of patients and assist the surgical Team in operation Theatre .

Evaluations and Grading

Evaluations will collate candidate performance based on Self Assessment, Term End Assessment, completion of Project Work , participation in Webinar , participation in student-faculty chat.
Grading will be done based on alphabetical grade point percentage.

Certification

At the end of the program the student will be awarded with a Certificate from Astron Institute of International Studies.
