Strategies to score more than 90% marks in boards 2021

Posted on March 25, 2021March 25, 2021 by Astron Institute of International Studies

After CBSE has announced the dates for conducting the board examinations, students appearing in the exams are a bit anxious. The academic year 2020-2021 has been like none other as virtual classrooms became the only option.

Board examinations, for any student, are considered an important stage for a successful future as they have an impact on getting admissions in a college and course of student’s choice and eventually leading to a successful career. It is a bit of a relief for students as the board had decided to conduct the exams based on a reduced syllabus considering the hardship faced by the students.

However, for students appearing in the exam, it remains the most important exam as their score will remain with them for a lifetime and hence the stress is on height.

IELTS

Though there are no magic formulas and no tips that will guarantee success in the exam, we present to students some of the tried and tested strategies that can surely help in their preparation and make their hard work to be more fruitful. Here is a list of top best practices and strategies for students appearing on boards:

  1. Practice Previous Year’s Question

The key to a complete and proper preparation is understanding the pattern of the examination and what would be a better way than attempting previous year’s question papers. Practicing with the actual question set while also keeping an eye on the allotted time duration will help you in getting a feel of the actual exam. It will also give you an idea of the difficulty level of the exam.

This strategy will lead to a better understanding of the nature of questions asked in the exam and the examination pattern. The benefits of practicing previous questions are vast and should not be overlooked.

  1. Try to find out your Weak & Strong areas and Prioritize the challenging areas

Tough subjects and theory-laden concepts require more practice and time. These topics need to be in priority when preparing for an exam. Students generally tend to avoid these subjects due to fear and procrastination and leave them for last-minute preparation. It is advised to give proper time to the challenging part so that you can grasp the concept and fit it in your mind.

  1. Revision is the key

The importance of revision is many. Revision helps in remembering facts, figures, and other details you have studied. Regular revision helps to make the concept more permanent and reassuring in your mind thereby reducing anxiety and boosting confidence.

There are several techniques of revising. You adopt the one that suits you and makes it a habit. Regular revision has the benefit of making learning just mere memorization and it also helps in recalling information as and when necessary.

  1. Allocate equal time to all subjects

Time management is of great importance both during preparation as well as in the examination hall. During preparation, proper time must be allotted to all subjects to cover the syllabus.

Following a set timetable with assigned time for study, rest, and physical exercises will induce discipline and result in timely completion of preparation with enough time for doubt clearing and revision where necessary.

  1. Choose your material and follow the pattern

In today’s world of the internet, there are ample sources present online from which preparation materials can be sourced.  At this point, it is important to source materials from a reputed source that aligns with the parameters of the board exams such as difficulty levels, the time required to provide an answer, etc.

Once you have chosen your material, try to begin with the higher marks questions and work your way up. Also, keep an eye on the time you take for each question to solve and identify important questions that carry maximum weightage and prioritize them.
