This course will provide the essential skills required to work in a Hospital Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD). Trainee will learn in detail about the essential skills required to work in a hospital CSSD. Trainee shall be exposed to basics of sterilization, operations and handling of sterilizers, documentation, quality control and sterilization practices. The course shall also interlink and teach coordination of CSSD & Infection control.
The CSSD Technician decontaminates, inspects, assembles and sterilizes instruments and surgical trays. The technician also manages inventory control, orders supplies, inspects, maintains, delivers and retrieves equipment and instruments for the surgery, emergency room and intensive care units. Other topics covered in this program include basic anatomy & physiology.
One year (6 months theory classes and 6 months hospital training)
